Location - Alexandria, VA
Our client, a well-established commercial and general contracting company headquartered in Alexandria, VA, is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to oversee and manage the execution of high-quality construction projects. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the company’s success through effective project leadership and collaboration with diverse teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Leadership: Manage all phases of construction projects, from pre-construction through closeout, ensuring successful delivery.
- Scheduling and Planning: Develop and maintain project schedules, resource plans, and budgets, ensuring alignment with client and company expectations.
- Team Coordination: Supervise and collaborate with project teams, including project engineers, superintendents, and subcontractors, fostering a productive and accountable work environment.
- Client Management: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring strong relationships and high levels of satisfaction.
- Risk and Compliance Management: Identify and mitigate risks, ensuring compliance with safety standards, building codes, and company policies.
- Budget Management: Monitor project costs, approve expenditures, and work with the finance team to manage budgets and financial performance.
- Process Optimization: Identify opportunities for process improvement to enhance efficiency and project outcomes.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in commercial construction, with at least 3 years in a senior project management role.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of construction project management, scheduling software (e.g., Primavera, MS Project), and budget tracking.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead diverse teams, resolve conflicts, and drive project success in a collaborative environment.
- Communication: Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, LEED AP, OSHA) are highly desirable.
