Estimator - Heavy Civil

We’re partnered with a well-established heavy civil general contractor based in Freeport, NY who is looking to add an experienced Estimator to their team.

This is a great opportunity to join a reputable contractor with a strong pipeline of public works and infrastructure projects across Long Island and the NYC metro area.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for heavy civil projects
• Review drawings, specifications and project documentation
• Work closely with project managers, subcontractors and clients during the preconstruction phase
• Develop detailed bids for public works and infrastructure projects
• Assist with cost analysis, value engineering and budgeting
• Support the overall tendering and bid submission process

Requirements

Essential:

• Proven experience as an Estimator within a heavy civil contractor
• Strong background in:
  - Highway and roadway construction
  - Bridge construction and rehabilitation
  - Excavation and site development
• Experience working on public works and DOT projects
• Strong analytical and organisational skills

Desirable:

• Experience working within the New York / Long Island market
• Familiarity with local regulations and public sector bidding processes
