Real Estate Project Manager

Location: Boston, MA

Salary: $100K - $160K

Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Real Estate Project Manager to oversee a diverse portfolio of residential and commercial development projects throughout the Greater Boston area. The ideal candidate will manage projects from initial planning and feasibility through design, permitting, construction, and final delivery. This role requires strong leadership, communication, financial management, and the ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage multiple real estate development projects, including ground-up construction, renovations, adaptive reuse, and tenant improvements.
  • Conduct site evaluations, feasibility studies, financial modeling, and risk assessments.
  • Oversee the entitlement and permitting process with local agencies and community stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, and internal teams to ensure project milestones are met.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and cash flows; monitor performance and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including zoning, building codes, environmental requirements, and sustainability standards.
  • Lead RFP processes, negotiate contracts, and manage vendor relationships.
  • Prepare and deliver regular project reports to leadership, investors, and external partners.
  • Oversee construction progress, conduct site visits, and proactively address issues to mitigate delays or cost overruns.
  • Support lease-up strategies for commercial spaces and coordinate turnovers for residential units.
  • Foster strong relationships with city officials, community groups, lenders, and other stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, Business, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in real estate development or project management, with exposure to both residential and commercial projects.
  • Strong understanding of Boston real estate markets, permitting processes, and regulatory landscape.
  • Demonstrated experience managing budgets, schedules, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in project management software and financial modeling tools.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and juggle multiple projects effectively.
