The Position

We're working with a well-established owner/operator of affordable and mixed-income housing communities to find an experienced Senior Property Manager to oversee a portfolio of properties across the Greater Boston area.

This is a senior leadership role with broad responsibility - covering operational, financial, regulatory and physical performance across multiple communities - while directly managing a primary site location. The right person will bring strong affordable housing compliance expertise, proven team leadership and a genuine commitment to resident satisfaction.

The Role

Portfolio & Property Operations You'll oversee day-to-day operations across multiple affordable housing communities, ensuring properties are maintained to company standards and regulatory requirements. Regular site inspections, operational improvements, and resident satisfaction will all sit within your remit.

Financial Management Responsibilities include preparing annual operating budgets, monitoring financial performance, driving revenue collection, controlling expenses, and reviewing invoices and subsidy reimbursement requests. You'll also assist with rent increase submissions in line with federal and state regulations.

Affordable Housing Compliance You'll ensure full compliance with LIHTC, Project-Based Section 8, and other affordable housing programme requirements — overseeing resident certifications and recertifications, maintaining accurate files, preparing for agency audits, and implementing corrective action plans where needed.

Team Leadership You'll supervise property management, maintenance, and administrative staff — providing coaching, training, performance management, and development support. Recruiting, onboarding, and staff retention will also fall within your scope.

Resident Relations Addressing resident concerns, conducting resident meetings, promoting positive community engagement, and supporting fair housing practices are all key parts of this role.

Administrative Responsibilities You'll review and execute leases and renewals, coordinate legal matters, prepare performance reports for ownership and senior leadership, and ensure payroll approvals and personnel documentation are completed accurately and on time.
