Controller

We’re partnered with a growing commercial construction business based in Dallas, TX who is looking to bring on an experienced Controller to lead their financial operations.

Reporting directly to the CFO, this is a key leadership role where you will take ownership of the full accounting function, supporting both day-to-day operations and strategic financial decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage day-to-day accounting operations including GL, AP, AR, payroll and month-end close
• Prepare and deliver accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements
• Oversee job costing processes to ensure accurate project-level financial reporting
• Manage Work in Progress (WIP) schedules and ensure correct revenue recognition across projects
• Perform and review bank reconciliations, account reconciliations and intercompany transactions
• Lead the annual audit process and act as the main point of contact for external auditors and CPA firms

Requirements

Essential:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 4–7+ years of accounting experience, including at least 3+ years within construction
• Experience managing an accounting team
• Strong experience owning the full accounting function (GL, AP, AR, payroll, reporting)
• Solid understanding of construction accounting principles including job costing, WIP, AIA billing and retainage
• Experience managing month-end and year-end close processes

Desirable:

• Experience with construction ERP systems such as Sage 300 CRE, Viewpoint, CMiC or similar
