Senior Accountant

We’re partnered with a growing construction business based in Austin, Texas who is looking to bring on an experienced Senior Accountant to support their finance team.

Reporting into the Controller or CFO, this role will play a key part in overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting the wider business through strong financial management.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and support the accounting team including project accountants, AP/AR and payroll staff
• Own the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements including balance sheets, income statements and cash flow reports
• Oversee general ledger activity including journal entries, account reconciliations and intercompany transactions
• Manage job costing processes to ensure accurate project-level financial tracking
• Maintain and review Work in Progress (WIP) schedules across active projects
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable, including subcontractor pay applications, lien waivers and retainage tracking
• Manage bank reconciliations and support cash flow reporting

Requirements

Essential:

• Degree in Accounting (Master’s preferred)
• 5–8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience within a construction firm
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and general accounting principles
• Experience working with accounting or ERP systems
• Prior leadership or supervisory experience
