Project Accountant

We are partnered with a leading general contractor in Dallas to recruit an experienced Project Accountant to their friendly team. This is a great opportunity for someone looking for an autonomous role that plays to their strengths in job cost accounting, billing, and project team communication.

The Role

You'll be supporting the project team and bridging communication between jobsite field operations and the corporate office in this vital role that ensures seamless jobsite setups, precise subcontractor management, and accurate financial reporting.

Core Duties

• Coordinating field office mobilization, jobsite administration, and supporting payroll processing.
• Processing invoices, managing budget transfers, setting up job logs/coding, and maintaining accurate job cost and receivable reports.
• Overseeing subcontractor pay applications, issuing change orders, tracking compliance, and ensuring timely payments.
• Collaborating with Project Managers to process monthly owner billings (full backup), generating projected final cost reports, and maintaining accurate cost classifications in the accounting systems.
• Serving as the primary liaison between jobsite stakeholders, subcontractors, and corporate accounting to resolve issues and convey project status.

Role Requirements

• Experience in construction / project accounting, ideally within a commercial general contractor handling multifamily, healthcare, and similar projects of varying sizes ($1-100M).
• Proficiency in accounting / ERP software and jobsite management tools.
• Strong understanding of lien waivers, subcontractor pay apps, and job cost reporting.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a solution-orientated approach.
• Willingness to travel to jobsites as required (not frequent).

Package

• Base salary of $75,000 - $95,000 depending on experience.
