Construction Superintendent – Student Housing & Multifamily (Austin, TX)

Core Responsibilities

• Site Leadership & Daily Operations
  Lead and supervise daily onsite construction activities. Oversee subcontractors, coordinate deliveries, maintain clean and safe worksites, and ensure quality workmanship.
• Scheduling & Logistics
  Develop and manage the construction schedule, prepare three-week lookahead plans, and coordinate job-site logistics including staging, materials, and equipment.
• Cost & Contract Oversight
  Monitor field expenses, approve subcontractor payments, process RFIs and change orders, and maintain as-built records.
• Quality Control & Compliance
  Inspect work for adherence to plans, specifications, local codes, and contract documents. Coordinate inspections, manage punch lists, and secure Certificates of Occupancy.
• Safety Management
  Implement and enforce safety policies according to OSHA standards, chair weekly safety meetings, and address site hazards proactively.

Qualifications & Skills

• Experience:
  5+ years of hands-on superintendent or field leadership experience in multifamily and ideally student housing or wood?frame ground?up construction.
• Technical Proficiency:
  Skilled in reading blueprints, contract documents, RFIs, submittals, and scheduling tools. Familiarity with Procore, MS Project, Primavera (P6), or similar software is essential.
• Safety & Certifications:
  OSHA 30-hour (or equivalent) certification preferred. First Aid/CPR training, CESCL, or CSTS helpful.
