The Position

THE ROLE

The Estimator will be responsible for preparing full estimates on assigned projects and provide a complete total bid price in accordance with company policies, construction documents and governmental regulations. The position is responsible for representing the firm with clients, subcontractors, and consultants on virtually any range of subjects related to estimating. The project types include but are not limited to ‘Ground Up’ Retail, Restaurants, Hotel & Hospitality etc. as well as commercial fit-out & renovation projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reviews construction documents and understands scope of work to bid.
  • Attend pre-bid meetings
  • Demonstrate knowledge of and ability to review and write scopes of work for all Construction Trades (Division 1-16)
  • Ensure sufficient subcontractor coverage for each and every bid.
  • Ability to review bids against plans to ensure full scope of work is covered,
  • Prepare bid general conditions and review with operations before bid submittal.
  • Ability to compile pricing for final bid to owners.
  • Assist with pricing change orders if required.
  • Reviews estimates and revisions for completeness and accuracy.
  • Obtains bids from subcontractors.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 2 Years experience as a Construction Estimator in Commercial projects
  • College or University degree in a construction-related field is desirable
  • Must understand construction terms, scheduling, and planning
  • Proficient in Construction Estimating software
  • Excellent organizational, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
