CTO - Custom Home Builder

We're partnered with a mid-size custom home builder in South Dallas who's looking for a Chief Technology Officer to own and lead their technology department.

This is a unique opportunity to step into a leadership role where you'll have full control over technology strategy, team building and implementation. The company has been developing software via subcontractors for a decade and is ready to bring this function in-house with dedicated leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and lead the technology department as a stand-up function within the company
• Take ownership of existing software systems developed over the past decade
• Integrate AI agents and emerging technologies into operations
• Develop and execute technology strategy aligned with business goals
• Build and lead a technology team (anticipated to grow to 2-3 people by year-end)
• Manage relationships with technology vendors and contractors
• Drive continuous improvement and innovation across technology systems

Requirements

Essential:

• Proven experience in technology leadership roles
• Strong understanding of software development and system integration
• Experience with AI implementation and emerging technologies
• Ability to evaluate, optimize and manage existing software systems
• Team building and leadership experience
• Strategic thinking with hands-on execution capabilities

Desirable:

• Experience in construction technology or related industries
• Background working with custom-developed software systems
• Knowledge of home building operations and workflows
